A view from California
In 2018, after returning from a six-month research stay at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley (USA), Eugenio clearly saw the disruptive potential of autonomous driving.
While in Spain there were only fledgling initiatives in laboratories, autonomous robots were already operating at Berkeley, making deliveries on campus.
That contrast opened up a world of possibilities and marked a before and after in his career.
Preparing for entrepreneurship
Upon completing his PhD in 2020, Eugenio was clear about his desire to become an entrepreneur. He felt a deep motivation to apply his knowledge of autonomous driving to contribute tangible value.
However, after listening to the advice of more experienced entrepreneurs, he realized he needed to get out into the world first: learn languages, build a solid network, deeply understand the industry, and gather the necessary resources to launch his company successfully.
Four years in the world elite
With that goal in mind, Eugenio moved to Croatia, where he joined the planning and control team as leader of the ambitious autonomous driving project at RIMAC Automobili, a leading company in electric vehicles and technological innovation.
During those four years, he gained experience, unique practical knowledge, and a comprehensive vision for developing and managing cutting-edge technological projects globally.
Returning home to found the future
In 2024, Eugenio returns to Spain ready to realize his entrepreneurial vision. He begins by developing the fundamentals of autonomous driving from an agile perspective, creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that would lay the groundwork for future technological and commercial developments.
These first steps required technical reinforcements, so Enrique, an expert in electronics and electromagnetic interference and a close friend of Eugenio, quickly joined the project, providing key value at this critical stage. Since then, Enrique has remained a strategic advisor, contributing his vision and experience.
A key boost: TDI-FEDER and Lanzadera
Thanks to the TDI-FEDER grant, the project was able to outsource specialized tasks, initiate processes to protect its intellectual property through patents, and acquire essential prototyping tools that allowed it to advance to the next level.
In September 2024, the company was selected by Lanzadera, recognized as the best startup accelerator in Spain. This addition provided a huge boost, allowing the team to focus on core tasks and clearly define the next steps toward growth and consolidation.

Our goal: Autonomous mobility for the rural world

At SeaX AI, we work to improve the quality of life in rural areas, especially for the elderly and those with reduced mobility. Our project develops an innovative, accessible, and efficient autonomous transportation solution designed to operate on specific routes within villages. With this technology, we seek to offer independence and comfort, significantly improving the daily lives of these communities.
