Driverless cars for rural areas: the alternative to facilitate mobility in areas without transport
A fully autonomous vehicle designed for use in towns and rural areas where other transportation options are scarce. This idea, conceived by a young entrepreneur from Teruel, is currently a prototype and aims to facilitate transportation, for example, by connecting municipalities or enabling residents to reach health centers in other towns.

A driverless car in your town? The province will be the first testing ground in 2026. Eugenio Alcalá, a young entrepreneur from Teruel and founder of Seax AI, is leading a pioneering project that applies artificial intelligence to mobility in rural areas, with the aim of developing autonomous electric vehicles that connect municipalities and points of interest in towns in a sustainable, accessible and socially useful way.
Caja Rural de Teruel Seed Award 2025: SeaX AI
The Caja Rural de Teruel Seed Award has been given to SeaX AI, an initiative launched in 2024 with the aim of addressing one of the main challenges facing rural areas: the lack of accessible, regular, and sustainable public transportation. To tackle this problem, SeaX AI develops and operates a rural autonomous mobility system based on driverless electric vehicles that travel fixed, looped routes with established stops and schedules, replicating the model of an urban bus line, but at much lower costs and without the need for a driver on site.
